Do you know how many demerit points you have?

Here's how to tell how many, if any, demerit points you've racked up.

If you’ve ever been pulled over or fined for a driving-related offence, there’s a good chance you’ve accrued some demerit points.

These points remain active for three years, and it can be easy to forget how many you have.

If you’re on your full licence and you accrue six or more demerit points, you should receive a notice warning you that you’re close to being disqualified (12 or more points will get you disqualified if you’re on a full licence).

If you’re on your learner’s permit or provisional licence, however, you’ll be disqualified from driving for six months if you accrue four or more demerit points.

There are a few simple ways to check how many points you’ve collected:

  1. Sign up or log in to your mySA GOV account
  2. Call 13 10 84
  3. Visit an Service SA customer service centre
