Meet the Netflix of cars – our brand new RAA Car Subscription service, where you can sign up to use a vehicle that suits your lifestyle and swap your wheels if your needs change.
To help you decide if our recently launched service is the solution for you, we’ve addressed some of your questions with the help of Andrew Howard, RAA Senior Manager of Market Development. How does RAA Car Subscription work?
RAA Car Subscription is as easy as 1-2-3. Simply choose a car to suit your lifestyle, then select your subscription plan (60 days is the minimum period) and off you go. You can even have your car within 2 business days if you need it.
To start your subscription, head online to choose a car and subscription plan that suits you. Fill out your details in the webform to complete your signup.

You’ll need to pay a security deposit on initial signup (which is refunded upon the safe return of your undamaged vehicle) and choose your preferred billing cycle for the subscription.
When your RAA Car Subscription car is ready, you’ll receive a notification from our team, telling you where you can pick it up. The cars are from a variety of reputable SA dealerships, so the pickup location will depend on the car you choose. Plus, we’ll give you a taxi voucher to get to your pickup spot.
Need extended kilometres, or maybe a shorter subscription time? We’ve got you covered. You can even swap cars or end your subscription as your needs change. Note additional fees may apply.
What kind of plans do you offer?
There are 3 subscription plans – Starter, Value and Advantage. The plans differ based on their minimum term, included kilometres and when you can swap vehicles.

What’s included in your subscription?
Each subscription includes registration, damage cover, RAA Road Service, maintenance and servicing. You can even take advantage of a range of credits and discounts included in your RAA Car Subscription plan. These include eScooter and taxi credits for when you don’t feel like driving, fuel and car parking discounts plus one free car wash per month.
Do I need to pay up-front?
There are no up-front fees – you simply pay a security deposit which is refunded upon the safe return of your undamaged vehicle.
The weekly price, billing options, and any additional fees are detailed in the online process when you sign up and in the terms and conditions found on the website.
Do I need to have my own insurance or road service cover?
A damage waiver and road service are included in your weekly payments. A damage waiver fee may apply if you are involved in an accident.

Can I take my RAA Car Subscription car on a road trip or holiday?
Yes, you can use your car for a road trip or holiday. Whether you want an SUV with stacks of space for the family and the camping gear, or you simply need a comfy sedan to take you on a romantic getaway to a wine region, our range of cars has you covered.
If your needs change over time, you can switch cars at the end of your subscription.
Remember, each plan has a limit on the amount of kilometres you can rack up. It’s important to take this into consideration when selecting a plan to ensure you know how far you can take your noble steed.
How do I swap cars?
To swap cars, all you need to do is give our team a call on 1800 108 240, and we can sort it out for you.
It’s important to note that there may be a price change or additional fees when you swap cars, as each vehicle and plan combination is unique. When you swap your car for a new car, you’ll be subject to a new subscription plan, and subsequent minimum term.
Can I use RAA Car Subscription if I have an interstate licence?
Yes, you can sign up if you have a valid interstate or overseas driver’s licence.
Are there age restrictions on who can subscribe to RAA Car Subscription or who can drive the car?
You need to be at least 21 years of age to subscribe to RAA Car Subscription, or drive an RAA Car Subscription vehicle. An additional Damage Waiver fee also applies to those between the ages of 21-25.
I want to buy a car but I’m not sure what to get. Can I subscribe for a short time to try before I buy?
Buying a car can be a tricky and expensive life decision, so signing up for a subscription service can be a great way to test drive for longer than the usual lap around the block.
The shortest subscription period we offer is 60 days, so you can try out your favourite car for a couple of months before you consider making the commitment.
Are there limits on how far I can drive?
While there are no limits on how far you can travel, each subscription has a weekly distance allowance. Beyond this, there’s a 20c fee for every kilometre travelled.
What’s the minimum subscription time?
The minimum time you can subscribe for is 60 days, while our starter plan is for 120 days. Chat to our team about prices, time frames and what’s included in each plan, or check out the website for details.
How do I know if car subscription is right for me?
If your needs are changing and you don’t intend to have a car for longer than 2 years, or you just like the idea of being able to drive a different car, a car subscription could be right for you.
