From a festival all about cheese to a day dedicated entirely to SA, there’s a lot happening in our great state over the next couple of weeks. How many of these events are you heading to?

OzAsia Festival

When: 25 October–11 November

Where: Adelaide Festival Centre

Imagine experiencing the world’s largest continent without even leaving SA. Now you can. Held over 18 days, the annual OzAsia Festival presents the best in contemporary Asian dance, theatre, music, visual art, film, literature and, of course, food.

Lucky Dumpling Market

When: 25 October–11 November (Tuesday to Friday, 4.30pm until late and Saturday to Sunday, 12pm until late)

Where: River Torrens (next to the Adelaide Festival Centre)

Don’t be fooled by the name – the Lucky Dumpling Market has something delicious for every palate. From sizzling Asian barbecues to traditional stir fries and curries, the market is the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat before or after an OzAsia show. Not drooling yet? Lucky Dumpling Market

I Choose SA Day

When: 27 October

Where: All of SA

From yummy local produce to delicious drops, we’re a bit spoilt here in SA. Now’s your chance to celebrate our stunning state on a day dedicated to all things SA. Whether you head to a local landmark or buy a pack of FruChocs, snap a picture and post it to social media (that’s if you can resist devouring the apricot chocolate goodness). Tag @brandsouthaustralia and use #ichoosesa and #ichoosesaday to show your support for SA.

Vegan Festival Adelaide

When: 27–28 October

Where: Victoria Square, Adelaide

Head to almost any eatery and you’ll find at least one vegan dish on the menu. Go to Victoria Square on the last weekend of October and there’s an entire event dedicated to this lifestyle. Browse the market stalls for vegan treats or cosmetics, learn how to cook a hearty herbivorous meal from chefs around Australia or hear from animal activists.

Vegan Festival Adelaide

CheeseFest+FERMENT

When: 27–28 October

Where: Rymill Park, Adelaide

Cheese producers around Australia will gather in Rymill Park with some of SA’s finest food producers for CheeseFest+FERMENT. There’ll be free cooking demonstrations by MasterChef Australia judge Matt Preston, and SA’s own MasterChef alumni Jessie Spiby and Callum Hann. Be sure to enter RAA’s Festival Passport competition for a chance to win delicious produce, wine, a $250 SA travel voucher from RAA and, of course, cheese. Snap a few photos in the photo booth to remember the day, and don’t forget to say ‘cheese’.

CheeseFest and Ferment Festival

Leukaemia Foundation’s Aussie Muscle Car Run

When: 27 October–2 November

Where: Starts in Adelaide and cruises through regional SA

Get your muscle (cars) out to help raise funds for Australians living with blood cancers at the Leukaemia Foundation’s Aussie Muscle Car Run. Open to muscle cars built between 1963 and 1977, the week-long car cruise starts in Adelaide before travelling through other parts of the state, including the Fleurieu Peninsula and the Flinders Ranges.

Adelaide Oval Stadium Golf

When: 29 October–4 November

Where: Adelaide Oval

The footy season may be over, but Adelaide Oval is still pumping with energy as the stadium transforms into a 19-hole course for an entire week. Each player gets two shots per hole, so test your swing and channel your inner Shark as you tee off in Adelaide Oval’s Stadium Golf challenge.

Adelaide Halloween Spooktacular

When: 31 October–4 November

Where: Colley Reserve, Glenelg

Throw on a white bedsheet, paint your face ghoul green or hop on a broom and head to Glenelg’s Colley Reserve on one of the spookiest nights of the year. Ride what’s been dubbed Australia’s largest ghost train, go on the trick or treat trail and get shivers down your spine as you make your way through a special Halloween obstacle course.
