South Australia's home to some of the country’s most beautiful regions. If you take a caravan or motorhome, you can see the sights without having to worry about booking accommodation along the way.
Whether you’re hitching your caravan or campervan or hitting the road in your motorhome, here are some of our favourite places in South Australia to spend the night.
1. Deep Creek Conservation Park, Fleurieu Peninsula
About 100km south of Adelaide, Deep Creek Conservation Park is one of the largest portions of remaining natural vegetation on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
There are 5 campgrounds dotted throughout the park, with 4 accessible by 2WD vehicles.
Stringybark, Trig and Cobbler Hill campgrounds can accommodate caravans, however amenities are limited.
Don’t let that deter you though. There are 15 walking trails that provide spectacular views of Kangaroo Island and the rugged Deep Creek Valley.
Bird watchers will be in paradise with over 100 species calling the park home.
See western grey kangaroos and short-beaked echidnas – if you’re lucky, you can even spot whales frolicking in the ocean from May until October.
