It’s hard to believe we’re already half way through January. So, what does the remainder of the month have in store for us?

Colossal Creatures

When: 26 December 2018–28 January 2019

Where: Adelaide Zoo

Are the children bouncing off the walls with boredom these school holidays? There are still a few days left to check out Adelaide Zoo’s new Colossal Creatures exhibit. The interactive learning experience will have them marvelling at dinosaurs and gigantic creepy crawlies, and show them what life was like millions of years ago. Don’t forget: RAA members save 10% on general admission tickets to Adelaide Zoo.

Top Floor @ d’Arenberg Cube

When: 19 January

Where: 58 Osborn Rd, McLaren Vale

Slip on your dancing shoes, grab a glass of vino and make your way to the top floor of McLaren Vale’s newest masterpiece – the d’Arenberg Cube – for this for this mini dance/wine festival Words aren’t enough to describe the incredible views from the top floor of the winery’s Rubik’s cube-inspired building, and best of all, there will be chicken nuggets. Can’t find a designated driver? For some extra cash you can catch a bus from Victoria Square’s Hilton Hotel straight to the venue.

Australia Day Eve Twilight Farmers Market

When: 25 January

Where: Mount Pleasant Showground

‘Twas the night before Australia Day… it doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, but we’re excited nevertheless for this true-blue farmers market. Support local farmers by picking up some fresh tucker for your Australia Day barbecue, compete in the thong-throwing competition or have a swing on the backyard cricket pitch. Don’t forget to wear your green and gold.

Head to the hills for a weekend of wine, food and music at Crush Festival. From feasting on Mexican food at Lobethal’s Golding Wines, to prawns on the lawn at Karrawatta Wines in Meadows, you’ll leave so full you could almost roll home. Did we mention there’s also a mini International Rosé & Dumpling Festival at Howard Vineyard in Nairne? Yes, please.
