It’s that time of year when the madness hasn’t quite set in, but we can feel it just around the corner. Here’s what’s happening around South Australia before Mad March officially graces our calendar.
1. Cudlee Creek Bushfire Benefit Concert
When: 9 February
Where: Birdwood
The Cuddlee Creek Bushfire Benefit Concert is just one of the ways you can help SA’s fire-ravaged regions get back on track. Held in Birdwood at the National Motor Museum, the concert is a great excuse to listen to cool tunes, dig into delicious food and, best of all, donate to a good cause. All proceeds from the day go to the SA Bushfire Appeal.
2. Taste the Limestone Coast Festival
When: 8 February
Where: Naracoorte
Local wineries and food vendors from SA’s south east will ignite the senses of locals and visitors alike when they gather for Taste the Limestone Coast Festival. Get ready for an explosion of flavours and sounds including live music, wine tastings and fun activities for the little ones. Tastes – or should we say, sounds – good to us.
3. Chilli Fest Willunga
When: 8–9 February
Where: Willunga
Things are heating up, and we’re not talking about the weather. Check out Chilli Fest Willunga – the hottest festival in the south – where you can participate in cooking demonstrations, shop for chilli plants and indulge in spicy food. Don’t leave without chilling out to live music with a local brew to cool your palate.
4. ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open
When: 13–16 February
Where: Seaton
The ball’s in Adelaide’s court when it comes to golf. One of our most exciting tournaments is the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open, where professional female golfers from around the world tee off at the Royal Adelaide Golf Club. After watching the pros, treat the little ones to lessons and meet the athletes.

5. Adelaide Fringe
When: 14 February–15 March
Where: All over SA
We’re in love – and not because it’s Valentine’s Day. It’s that time of year when we fall head over heels for one of the world’s largest annual arts festivals – the Adelaide Fringe. Take your pick from a range of Fringe events around South Australia, from comedy shows to acrobatic extravaganzas. Keep an eye on the samotor website for our guide to the must-see Fringe shows of 2020.
