We’ve reached the last month of the year – some may say too soon. Either way, our calendar is packed with fun events to round out 2019. Which ones will you squeeze into your diary?
1. Santa’s Wonderland
When: 6–24 December
Where: Adelaide Showground
Catch a glimpse of the big man in red at Santa’s Wonderland before he heads on his round-the-world trip. Watch all the little ones’ Christmases come at once as they toboggan their way down slides, ice-skate and gorge on gingerbread. Check out our Santa’s Wonderland activity trail for a complete itinerary. Plus, save at least 10% on tickets just for being an RAA member.
2. One Electric Day 2019
When: 7 December
Where: Seppeltsfield
It’s electrifying! Okay, this event has nothing to do with the 70s musical Grease, but the tunes at One Electric Day are just as iconic. Pack your camp chair and gather on the lawns of Seppeltsfield Estate to see John Farnham, Jon Stevens, Vanessa Amorosi, and many more stellar artists in person as they perform their greatest hits
3. Wine Machine 2019
When: 7 December
Where: McLaren Vale
Enter the Wine Machine and prepare to be wowed by good tunes and even better vino. Held at Serafino Cellar Door in McLaren Vale, Wine Machine is an outdoor event boasting an epic line up of home-grown Aussie talent. Make it the ultimate feast for the senses and kick off the day at the property’s al fresco dining area. Here, a 2 course lunch will be waiting, accompanied by a selection of delicious Serafino drops. What better way to kick off this epic festival?
4. Civic Park Carols
When: 15 December
Where: Modbury
Deck the halls with boughs of holly… you know how the rest goes, so head northeast to singalong at Civic Park Carols. About 40,000 carollers attended last year, so don’t miss out – there’ll be a fun zone for the little ones, food and, of course, traditional tunes to get you in the festive spirit.
5. Semaphore Summer Carnival
When: 15 December–27 January
Where: Semaphore
How are you spending your summer? We’re driving dodgem cars, eating fairy floss and watching the night sky light up with a bang beachside. If that sounds like fun, head to the Semaphore Summer Carnival to see the northwest of Adelaide come alive. For those ringing in the New Year at the beach, don’t miss the carnival’s stunning fireworks displays at 9.30pm and midnight.
