With solar powered racing, moon lanterns and a zombie apocalypse on the cards, you could say we’re in for an interesting fortnight. Find out what’s on around SA.

1. Riverland Wine and Food Festival

When: 12 October
Where: Berri

Hosted on the banks of the mighty Murray at Berri, the Riverland Wine and Food Festival celebrates the region’s delicious drops and gastronomic delights. Make your way along the river, tasting top-notch produce from local wineries and breweries.

2. Adelaide Zombie Walk

When: 12 October
Where: Rundle Park, Adelaide

Halloween isn’t here just yet, but this spooky community event will definitely get you in the mood. Dress up as a ghoul and join hundreds of creepy characters, walking the streets of Adelaide to raise funds for charity.

3. Bridgestone World Solar Challenge

When: 13–20 October
Where: Darwin to Adelaide

It doesn’t take too long to get from Darwin to Adelaide – if you’re travelling by plane. Now try driving from the Top End to SA in a vehicle powered only by the sun. That’s exactly what students from more than 30 countries are doing as they battle for victory in the epic World Solar Challenge.

Where: Across Adelaide

5. SpringFest 2019

When: 19 October
Where: Flinders University, Bedford Park

Presented by Flinders University, SpringFest is a free event celebrating nature and science with a range of activities to keep you and the little ones entertained. Catch live science experiments on stage, or construct your own cubby house and brew your own nature potion.
